11 members of the Shkodra Police Rescue Team are one of the most specialized professionals in Albania, who help civilians during natural emergencies, mainly from floods.
Two weeks ago they worked on rescue missions at the Vjosa River, near Fier and Vlora. When there are no floods, this team trained by the EU keeps on practising or gets engaged in other missions abroad.
Top Channel’s cameras filmed one day of this group, in real missions near the Drin River, and we saw was simply breathtaking.
Ardian Zhuraj, the commander of the group, said that these operations are done from risky heights and very fast waters. The rescuer has to have high physical abilities.
Besides synchronizing their actions with each other, the team members need to synchronize their vehicles and equipment as well.
Courage and physical preparation leaves no room for comments, but what do these boys feel after they complete a life-saving mission?
Rescuer Alfons Gjergji says that what they feel is just pride and joy for giving citizens the necessary assistance.
