Thaci: “Border correction lifts Russia’s veto and brings Serbia’s recognition”

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, reiterated the idea that Kosovo needs a final agreement with Serbia, which can be reached only if there is compromise and border correction.
According to Thaci, Kosovo has achieved a new phase, in cooperation with its partners, but this is not enough. Kosovo needs to continue with its progress.
“The stability of Kosovo is closely related to its accession to international organizations. We must be aware that these purposes cannot be achieved without the good-neighbouring perspective. The EU is being reformed and modernized. The enlargement doors are open, but we must close our suspended issues first. Good neighbouring is a necessary condition for joining the EU”, the President said, adding that Serbia will not be convinced otherwise to recognize Kosovo, and Russia’s veto cannot be removed otherwise.
