“Tahiri”, Basha: “Political pressure to close the case”

The Democratic Party held a meeting before the “Tahiri” investigative commission, which meets this Monday for the first time.
The DP leader, Lulzim Basha, asked the Prosecution to continue its investigations since there is big political pressure to close the Tahiri case.
“It should be done impartially. There is huge political pressure for closing the Tahiri case”, Basha said.
He added that the purpose of the commission is to reveal what happened and why it happened so that the government is no longer captured by crime and turned into an extension of drug gangs.
“All law-enforcement institutions stopped existing with Tahiri. We will investigate how and why the police turned into a criminal organization and there was no reaction from the government. Why Tahiri was not brought to justice, despite the many information about his involvement”, Basha declared.
