The vote counting process has ended in some municipalities, with the
attention falling on Kavaja, where Soclialist Elis Rroshi has won with
6008 votes against the 5218 votes of the Democratic candidate, Refik
Rrugeja.

This is the first time that the Socialist Party wins the Kavaja municipality since the first pluralist elections.

Rrugeja, under the logo of the Democratic Party and “Alliance for the Citizen”. was asking the third mandate for the Kavaja Municipality.

The new Mayor, Elvis Rroshi, declared that he will serve to the Kavaja citizens, despite regardless their political preferences.

The Socialist Mayor will face a Municipal Council with a majority of the Democratic Party, but he doesn’t see a problem on that. He believes that the Kavaja citizens will have their common desire to make a different city, far from being a forgotten stronghold of democracy.

The process has ended also in Kukes, where the Democratic candidate, Hasan Halilaj has also won. The democratic candidates Shefki Çota and Servet Duzha have won in Librazhd and Cerrik.

The socialist candidates resulted winners in Kuçova and Divjaka.

A few minutes ago, the vote counting process finished in Orikum, Laç and Fushë Krujë, with a victory for the Socialist candidates.
