Supreme Council of Judiciary, lower judges will temporarily take cases on behalf of the Supreme Court

The High Council of the Judiciary has unanimously decided that the absence of the Supreme Court should be replaced by judges from lower courts, as the current situation is hurting the budget.

The Vice President of the HCJ, Maks Qoku, said that many cases could end up to Strasbourg because of this absence.

Qoku said that the failure to establish a Supreme Court would also hurt Albania’s image in the international arena because that could lead to Courts freeing people who had to be extradited.
