The insecticide Silikon Mix was being imported in our country as fertilizer, but farmers were using it as an insecticide for cherry trees.
The National Food Authority took administrative measures against the company that supplied the product, fining them with 60.000 ALL and seizing 4600 liters of the silicon mix insecticide.
But this quantity was later released, by order of the Minister of Agriculture, Niko Peleshi.
The silicon mix fraud was announced also by the Center of Transfering Agricultural Technologies at the Chemical Fertilizers Lab.
Launching the product back in the market was against the law, as noted also by the Supreme State Audit report that was issued to the National Food Authority.
