The Socialist Party is giving the final touch to the preparations for
organizing the 20th anniversary of the foundation of this
political force.
More than 800 people are invited in the reception that the opposition leader, Edi Rama, will organize in Sheraton Hotel.
The guests are not only SP leaders in Tirana and districts, but also from the diplomatic body, religious communities and allies of the Socialist Party.
Top Channel was able to secure the guest list, which is bigger than in the previous years. The names missing in the list of this year are those of Fatos Nano, Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha.
The 20th anniversary of the biggest opposition party in Albania takes place in a critical moment for this political force, after a long and intensive battle for denouncing manipulations, as the Socialist Party calls the 2009 elections and the Tirana mayoral race.
This Monday, the Electoral College will respond to the appeal of the Socialist Party wich questions the fact that after CEC opened 117 ballot boxes, the number of ballots was bigger than the number of voters. This changed the result of Tirana race in favor of Lulzim Basha, after the Zonal Election Commission count had shown Edi Rama winning with 10 votes.
