The situation in Tirana has aggravated after a normative act prepared by the Central Election Commission to recognize the votes that were inserted in the wrong ballot boxes. SP deputies stormed the meeting room of the Central Election Commission, while the Chairman Ristani canceled the scheduled meetings for the day. The Police was ordered to empty the room.

The Socialist Party Deputy, Mimi Kodheli, declared that if the Central Election Commission will not back off their intent, will be facing the Albanian people.

“Berisha must stop this adventure that could leave consequences for the country’s stability, caused by this unseen crime that is being committed by the Central Election Commission. The citizens have been called with the spirit of a popular revolt for not allowing the votes to be stolen. This is a sinister attempt that will never be accepted by the opposition”, Kodheli declared.

“If the Central Election Commission will not back off this sinister decision, the Albanian opposition will react with the strength of the ruling people”, SP deputy underlined.

Socialist leader Edi Rama denounced the attempt of changing the Tirana result on the tables, and warned that this would be prevented at any cost.
The Democratic Party candidate, Lulzim Basha, asked every vote to be counted. The ambassadors appealed the authorities to accelerate the result.
