Both political camps have aggravated their tones with declarations and
counter declarations, while the voting process in national scale is
proceeding very slowly.
After the press release of Jozefina Topalli, who asked Rama and his supporters to accept any result, the Spokesperson for the Socialist Party, Mimi Kodheli, asked the Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his collaborators if they would accept the deep loss in Tirana and in most of the country.
“Do you know that you have lost three quarters of the municipalities that you have today? As for Tirana, Rama is 1242 votes ahead his opponent. By the end of the process, Rama will achieve a spectacular victory”, Kodheli declared.
Only a couple of minutes later, the Democratic Party gave a press release through Aldo Bumçi, who declared that their candidate for the Tirana Municipality, Lulzim Basha, had overturned the preliminary result.
However, Bumçi declared that despite the optimism that comes from the data collected up to now, the Democratic Party will keep waiting the final result.
