The Prosecution of Tirana has suspended its investigations for a report made by a Parliamentary Committee established to investigate the privatization of the Energy System Distribution Operator, (OSSH).

The Committee had reported former high-level officials, from former Prime Minister Sali Berisha to his inter-mediator, who, according to MP Taulant Balla, profited millions of Euros.

After the session, MP Balla accused the Prosecutors of not investigating the facts brought by the Committee.

“Who are these Prosecutors who dare ignore a report approved by the Parliament’s majority, and decide to close the investigation within 10 days?”, the Socialist MP declared.

Balla reminded Prosecutors that in another European country, this case is still under investigation.

“The Prosecution in Albanian closed the investigation, but in the Czech Republic, where the CEZ Company still operates, the Prosecution is still investigating the case. This is the difference”, Balla declared.
