Smuggle increased in Northern Kosovo

The closure of the main roads and the searches made by KFOR soldiers in
borders checkpoints 1 and 31 have made the smugglers to find alternative
roads for continuing their illegal businesses.
The Spokesperson of Kosovo Police Department for Mitrovica, Besim Hoti, declared that Kosovo Police has recorded some cases of smuggle of oil and its derivates.
“Smuggle has not been made through border checkpoint 1 and 31, because these are under KFOR control, but through secondary roads. The smugglers always find a way to bring their goods in Kosovo”.
