Sub-Shkoder area, which was totally flooded 6 months ago and not for the first time, today has very few planted lands. Farmers of this area, known for
growing cattle, today have 31.622 farm animals less than one year ago.
This situation can clearly be seen at Berdice, an area known of being flooded by Drin River each time that Vau i Dejes power plant dikes were opened. Some farmers are waiting compensations, while many others have had no possibilities to plant new seeds. The land is damaged, but the main cause is their inability to pay the planting process.
Six months ago, Shkoder and Sub-Shkoder areas experienced a massive flood, considered as the biggest catastrophe in Albania for the last 150 years. The consequences of what happened are being felt in the domestic market, where many local products are missing.
