Serbs: No autonomy for Northern Kosovo

Serbia doesn’t want autonomy for Kosovo’s northern territories, at least officially. The Serbian
officials denied having ever discussed about Northern Kosovo
autonomy. The chief of the Serbian delegation for the dialogue with
Kosovo, Borislav Stefanovic emphasized that they could dialogue for
everything that is in full accordance with the Serbian constitution, but
these are just ideas presented by the media.

“This topic has never been opened. We have never discussed about this,” declared Stefanovic, adding that Serbia agrees with the topics and solutions by respecting the Constitution, which says that Kosovo is part of Serbia. The Serbian officials declared that they will not allow Kosovo institutions to enter in the northern part of their country, but they also deny having territorial division intentions.

Meanwhile, the opposition has criticized the government for incapability. The vice leader of the National Democrats of the former Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, Slobodan Samarxhi, declared that Serbia has left Northern Kosovo Serbians in ghettos, due to their personal interests.
