Bozidar Djelic, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister declared that the talks for EU integration are not an area for threats and blackmails.

He emphasized that Serbia deserves the EU candidate status and the assignment of the date for the integration negotiations.

However, Djelic declared that they will not cross the red lines for Kosovo, and that they must find a solution for this.

He added that Serbia has successfully fulfilled the precondition of the cooperation with the Hague Tribunal, and by the end of September they will fulfill all reforms, giving a special focus to the dialogue with Pristina.

Djelic emphasized that Pristina and Belgrade have been almost near the reach of a solution to the problem of border stamps, but after the actions of Kosovo Police, all of this should start from scratch.

Serbia hopes having more specific dates for the EU integration talks. If the country would not benefit the candidate status, the democratic government would be endangered in this spring’s elections.
