Rama: “We didn’t go to Germany for a right-away answer. Krichbaum didn’t tell me anything”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that the visit in Germany was successful.

“We spoke about all the details of the progress report, about the five priorities, the judiciary reform and the vetting law, which has the attention of everyone, even of the chancellor”, Rama declared.

The Prime Minister said that the visit didn’t aim to receive a public “yes” from Merkel.

He denied that Krichbaum, the Chairman of the European Matters Commission at the German Parliament, had said anything to him about Albania’s accession negotiation decision being early.

“He didn’t tell me anything, but there is no surprise for me. That’s what he thinks and his opinion has the weight that it has. It is no reason for me to find less satisfaction in this visit”, Rama said.
