Rama: SP, the integration leadership

According to the Socialist leader, this decision was taken only for avoiding another failure of Albania in the euro-integration process. The priority will be the 12 recommendations set by the EU Commission on behalf of which the Socialist Party will take the leadershiping role for national integration matters.

“Constitutionality, law implementation, vital reforms for the country, war without compromise against corruption, the crisis in the justice system, the crisis in the economic system, public finances and the social crises that have touched Albania will be the center of all our efforts. The Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party will not be satisfied will just putting the finger on the numerous wounds of our country, but will be an active initiator for the steps that the Parliament should take for easing these wounds”, Rama declared.

The Socialist Party leader pointed his finger towards the Prime Minister, accusing him of not accepting constitutional reforms because he wants to occupy even the post of the Albanian President, the Prosecution, Secret Service and other institutions, which the opposition will not tolerate.

“This is the constitutional period for changing the Governor of Bank of Albania, who has turned into an instrument of Sali Berisha for his destructive policy in the state finances. It is the time to change the Chairman of the Supreme State Audit, whom Berisha wants to transform into an instrument for covering the endless misdeeds in all ministries and state agencies of the corruption regime. It is the time to change the Ombudsman, a post the Berisha has offered to the opposition for the eyes of the international community, since this institution has proved that it doesn’t exist”, Rama declared.

The new Parliamentary course, as warned before by the Socialist leader, will bring an aggressive opposition in the Albanian Parliament, which according to Rama will place in front of their responsibilities, with several motion requests, all government ministers. SP will present and will demand different legal initiatives, among which the new law for the media. As for the Wikileaks cables, Mr. Rama appealed the General Prosecution to react and make transparent some of the greatest scandals in which the current government is involved, from the “Gerdec” case to the collapse of “Kalimashi Tunnel” and “January 21st, when 4 innocent people lost their lives.

“This is the day for repeating once again the opposition’s appeal for the General Prosecution to make its duty and not allow justice to be silent in front of state crimes, government corruption, abuses from the right and left centered parties, for making new disasters with the Constitution, the law and the people it represents”, Rama declared.
