The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that Albania is closer than ever to open the Eu accession negotiations.

For this reason, Rama said that they will find an agreement with the opposition for the appointing of the Provisory Prosecutor General.

“The law states its clear how the Provisory Prosecutor General is appointed, but, unfortunately, it has created a misunderstanding with the opposition. I appeal them to make use of this moment to explore any methods of understanding and come to a solution that is accepted by both parties”, Rama said.

Rama added that they have the right and laws to appoint the Prosecutor General on their own, but for the Socialist Party, the national interest is greater. That’s why they want to use this moment to do everything possible for Albania to open the accession negotiations, without giving anyone any alibi or justification to work against the EU accession negotiations.
