The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, who is attending an official two-day visit in Germany, stopped this Wednesday at the German Parliament where he is meeting with the Speaker, Wolfgang Shcauble.

Rama will also meet with Gunther Krichbaum, the Chairman of the Foreign Committee, who has been mentioned in debates between Rama and the Albanian opposition leader, Lulzim Basha.

Basha accused the government leader of funding a denigrating campaign against Krichbaum, after he met with Basha and later declared that Albania is not ready yet for EU accession. Rama denied the accusations and said that the Socialist Party would never attack someone who is interested about Albania.

Krichbaum was accused of being pro-Serb and with double standards, since Serbia has not started any judicial reform and yet he has no objections about Belgrade. He also threatened Croatia to not become an obstacle for Serbia.

He has had so many pro-Russian declarations that he has been accused of being paid by Vladimir Putin.

Everything remains to be seen at the German Bundestag who will decide if they will allow Albania to start the EU accession negotiations.
