Vast forest areas that have been planted in the last 60 years in Ura
Vajgurore are being destroyed by the great number of quarries that have
been opened in this area.

The owners have damaged the forests in order to free their way towards the quarries and to increase the working area. The Forest Service of Berat district has identified this problem while preparing for the fire season.

Besides destroying the forests, the quarries have also created a difficult situation for the inhabited areas, by increasing the pollution that has been created by dust.
