The region of Puglia, Italy, has donated 3000 trees for the orbital forest that will be planted around the city of Tirana.

The president of this region, Michele Emiliano, said that this forest will be one of the largest in Europe.

“Puglia is putting its roots in Albania, and not only as a metaphor. This is a great day, as we realize an idea of Tirana’s Mayor, whose purpose is to create one of the largest forests made by men in Europe. There will be millions of trees brought by the friends of Albania. This is an oak from our land. The trip that this tree made is uniting us, because it will put its roots in Albania”, Emiliano said.

The trees were built at the Farka Lake, where the Municipality will built the Puglia Park.

“We meet many politicians who just make promises that are never kept. President Emiliano gave his word and he kept it. He brought 3000 trees with his team. We will also take 1000 more in March. We have projected a new parcel at the Farka Lake, which will be called the Puglia Park”, Veliaj said, appealing other institutions and foreign embassies as well to help Tirana with trees.
