After exploiting oil and gas wells without any criteria for 20 years, it
finally dawned to the government to establish a new protocol for
inspecting private and state companies. The oil and gas market reaches
almost half a million dollars in revenues, while the state has never
published its encashment from this sector.
The Ministry of Economy and its structures have rarely reported the nature of the agreements established with foreign private companies for exploiting the Albanian territory for oil and gas, and neither the profit of our state from these agreements.
For taking the situation under control, the Minister of Economy Nasip Naço presented yesterday the draft for “The Protocol for the activities of search and production of hydrocarbon materials in Albania”, which will be sent to the Council of Ministers for approval.
Oil and gas are the main contributors in Albania’s energetic balance (almost 60% of the total), and for this reason the Minister asked the government to be more careful with their administration and efficiency.
Currently oil production in our country has been constantly increased in the last 10 years.
