PM: Quarantine site will be in Durres, possible coronavirus cases will be isolated in the Army holiday home

Prime Minister Edi Rama told the National Security Committee today in relation with the situation of the novel coronavirus epidemic, that there is yet no cases of infection in the country, and announced where the virus quarantine site will be created.

“In the first instance we will need the quarantine place, we have decided to set up the holiday home of the Ministry of Defense in Durres,” said Rama.

Further on he reiterated the preventive measures taken: “From the first moment protocols have been established as well as guidelines for case tracking, distributed that at border crossings; 800 health professionals have been trained at all levels of our health system. Health teams at air and sea checkpoints have doubled. Monitoring of passengers is carried out by the health team, as an added measure, after the virus confirmation in Italy. Temporary quarantine, isolation areas are located at the airport and ports. People from affected areas should call 127 if they feel sick, without going themselves to the hospital. ”

The Prime Minister has guaranteed that every step is being taken in accordance with WHO recommendations. Referring to the affected countries, Rama has demanded that citizens who do not have indispensable travels planned to the affected countries, to avoid them.
