PJIU: Requesting amend of Civil Registrar law

24/09/2011 20:15

The Party for Justice, Integration and Unity will request the amend of
the Civil Registrar law, as consequence of the decision taken by the
Constitutional Court a few days ago, which has rejected it with the
nationality notion and the procedures for its amend.

“The Constitutional Court gave a decision for which there is no argumentation yet, but that requires the definition of the term ‘nationality’ and ‘ethnicity’. We will wait the argumentation of the decision, and based on it we will ask the amend of the law for the Civil Registrar, so that we will have a clear and objective nationality concept, which is specified even in the Civil Registrar offices, based on documents and not on self declarations that could be incited by instantaneous emotions or economic compulsions of a transition time”, Idrizi declared.

Idrizi emphasized the role played by the political force he manages for passing in Parliament the amends that, as he said, minimize or do not allow any possible manipulations or self declarations of religion and nationality during the population registration.

“We want to reiterate our contradiction of this process that should be constitutional, not only for the ethnicity, but also for the religion. We proposed the Population Registration law as part of a full regulative framework, after the Constitutional Court would announce the argumentation, which must be in full accordance with the Constitution”, he said.

According to Idrizi, PJIU will continue to fight for bringing the Albanians together in a single world, and not by changing borders, but through a common cultural, educational and economic policy.

Shpetim Idrizi gave these declarations during a meeting with the elected figures of the political force, to whom he asked commitment for bringing a greater representation in the next general elections.
