The Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration started the new parliament session by filing constitutional and legal amends to fix what they consider an anti-constitutional situation with the Provisory Prosecutor General.

While the High Council of Prosecution has not been established yet, the opposition wants the Provisory Prosecutor General to be removed from duty and start another procedure for appointing a new Prosecutor General based on these amendments.

The current Council of Prosecution would exert the powers of the Provisory Prosecutor through collegial decisions. The applications for the Prosecutor General will be collected by the Constitutional Court and not by the Parliament.

After this, there should be a Prosecutor General with 3/5th of the votes, after passing through the vetting procedure. For the vetting to be realized, the opposition proposes that the list of the five best members, as ranked by the Constitutional Court, should be verified with high priority by the Special Commission of Qualification, within 30 days.

After that, if no Prosecutor General can be appointed with 84 votes, the first ranked by the Constitutional Court will be appointed for the duty.
