The former Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, says that the government’s
operation against informality will damage the economy in a long term,
although in a short term it might bring more budget funds.

Bode thinks that informality in Albania is not to the point of legitimizing an operation of this scale. According to him, the fight against informality and market competition is a constant process and part of the government programs.

The former Minister of Finances says businesses will find it hard to adopt with the consequences and the cost will be paid by citizens.

Prime Minister Rama has considered the fight against informality as the most important test of the government mandate. He added that market equality is vital for the economy and for protecting consumers.
