After the EU Council of Ministers for European Affairs approved today the opening of EU negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia, US Ambassador Yuri Kim congratulated the country on the achievement.
In a Twitter post, alongside a message for Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi, Kim wrote:
“The EU decision to open negotiations with Albania reflects the hard work of the Albanian government and people. The US will continue to strongly support reforms and other steps needed to achieve the membership. Congratulations and success! ”
