An official report of Bank Deposits Agency, that was presented to the MP of
the Economy Parliamentary Commission shows that the capital in Albania
is concentrated in the hands of few individuals.

The report refers to official bank data, which show that 4% of those that have bank accounts own 55% of the total deposits in the country. According to the agency, there are more than 1,465,000 Albanians who have bank accounts.

By the end of 2010, total individual savings reached 630 billion ALL, 350 of which belonged to only 63% persons. These numbers show that the main part of the capital in Albania is owned by a small percentage of the population, raising once again the suspicions that our economy is generating high inequality.
