No more unsolicited concessions, starting from July 1st

Starting from July 1st, 2019, the Albanian government will stop the unsolicited concession for maintaining roads.

The legal initiative that was prepared by the Ministry of Finances brings to an end one of the most controversial mechanisms through which the government has given road concessions up to 1 billion EUR, to private companies.

The only unsolicited projects that will be accepted are those of ports and other sectors. This law also improves the government supervision on the existing agreements, giving more power especially to the Ministry of Finances.
