New family for orphans

About 80 children in Tirana and Shkoder have left orphan institutions in the last two years and are living in foster homes.
According to the Ministry of Labor, this method of education has resulted very effective for these children, who can take this way all the care and education needed.
The Director of Social Policies and Services at the Ministry of Labor, Denada Seferi, said that this method has given good results and it will be extended further.
Foster families, chosen on some strong criteria, take a monthly payment for the children. This experimental project, financed by UNICEF, is expected to extend in the entire country, for allowing orphan children to live in families and not in state institutions.
