Muslims: Monitoring population registration

They asked the government to guarantee maximal transparency for the
population registration on ethnic and religious bases. The Muslim
Community in Elbasan warned through this petition of boycotting the
process in case of irregularities, not only in Elbasan, but in the
entire country.

Other clerics also appealed for performing this process with greatest responsibility.

Population Registration: Tahiri Writes Topalli, asking transparency of the voting process of this law.

The Socialist MP Saimir Tahiri officially asked through a letter to the Parliament Speaker the transparency of the voting process of the Census.

He writes that he suspects of a fake voting process.

While the work for the implementation of this law has started on terrain, in the Korçe district, the organization of the Greek Minority asked to have its representatives in the registration groups.

“As it has come in my attention, and I am sure that even in yours, but more importantlyin that of the public, there have been facts that cast well-founded doubts for a fictive and manipulated procedure, which do not represent the will of the MPs that were present on the Parliamentary Session of 17 July 2011 for the law ‘For the General Population and Residence Registration’”, says the letter.

“With the same attention that I have followed the persistence of the interest groups for knowing the truth based on the Constitutional Right of every individual for having at his disposal the official documents and activities of the public institutions, and based on the public debate that has followed this matter, with the same attention I have also followed your silence and that of the administration that you lead, which has not given any answer or explanation”, the Socialist MP writes.

“You have went as far as allowing the infringement of a legal law, which is the absolute obligation of any public institution for providing official information and for making transparent the participation and the voting procedure of the MPs”, Tahiri emphasizes.

“It is your job allowing the administration to publish the recorded data, without losing any time, with the only goal of avoidingthe consequences of a law that is totally invalid, that shouldn’t have been enacted and for the abovementioned reasons it cannot create any consequence. At least not until you and your Parliamentary majority decide to revote this law in the next session, this time without stealing the votes of the MPs”, the letter concludes.

Red and Black Alliance accused Greece of being the author of the law on population registration on ethnic bases. RBA executive leader, Redi Ramaj, asked the Albanian Minister of Innovation, Genc Pollo to not remain silent and respond to the Greek Parliament.

“Greece has just started its territorial pretenses. This proves the accusations that Greece is the author of the law on population registration on ethnic bases”, Ramaj declared.

According to him, the conditions that have been set by Greece for population registration on ethnic bases are unacceptable.

Registration, Spahiu: Protest, this October

The Vice Chairman of the High Council of Justice declared that Greece cannot impose Albania to perform population registration on ethnic bases, while the Greek government itself has not applied this procedure, although being an EU member.
“Greece doesn’t recognize ethnic and national minorities in its territory. We denounce the servitude of the Albanian government towards Greece”, Spahiu declared, warning that the protests of Red and Black Alliance would start this October.

The historian Pellumb Xhufi emphasized that the population registration, through the criteria that has been assigned by law, marks a flagrant confrontation with the international convent.

“This type of registration is in full contradiction with the Constitution. The first alarm bells about this registration rang since 2004”, Xhufi added.

The member list of the Red and Black Alliance is getting bigger every day, with many intellectuals joining their ranks. RBA declared that the Albanian Parliament MPs have infringed the Constitution by voting on behalf of absent MPs.
