The Macedonian Justice Minister, Albanian Bilen Saliji, resigned from his post over the killing of 4-old-Albanian, Almir Aliu.

Saliji said that the cause of his resignation was the government’s decision to raise charges as if the killing of the 4-year-old was caused by an accident.

A Macedonian man, Boban Ilic, had a conflict with the Albanian parents of the 4-year-old. After harsh debates, he took a car and rammed the family, killing their youngest son.

The Macedonian Prosecution changed the charges against Boban Ilic, from murder to manslaughter, which gives him a lower sentence.

“One of the main reasons why I joined politics, and why I became Justice Minister, was my belief that the main pillar of a state is a fair judiciary system that brings justice to every citizen”, Saliji declared.
