The Greek opposition leader, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, declared in his party’s 12th Congressional meeting that “their brothers (Greek minority) in Northern Epirus (southern Albania) are being faced with a difficult situation.

According to Mitsotakis, he wrote a letter to Commissioner Hahn, saying that Albania’s European perspective will be closely related to the respecting of human rights and recognition of national minorities by Albania, including the Greek minority.

Former Prime Minister Samaras accused the current government of having ceded too much to Albania and of failing to respond to what he called Edi Rama’s policies to remove the Hellenic population from Greece.
