The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, asked the Kosovo government and opposition to find smart solutions that take the country closer to European integration.

The President met Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, promising maximal support from Albania.

“We can offer Kosovo maximal support, in coordination with the Prime Minister, the President, the Parliament of Kosovo and all other institutions”, Meta declared.

Meta visited Kosovo for the 12th anniversary of death of President Ibrahim Rugova, to reiterate the importance of commemorating his values.

“I am looking forward to February 17th, the 10th anniversary of Independence of Kosovo, as an affirmed opportunity for Kosovo’s European and Euro-Atlantic path”, President Meta declared.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said that the purpose of Kosovo remains its integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures.

Haradinaj spoke about the security situation in Kosovo after the killing of the Serbian politician, Oliver Ivanovic.

“Our security and order mechanisms confirm that the situation is stable. The killing of Ivanovic was taken very seriously by our institutions and there are no warnings for a possible destabilization of our country. The visit of the Serbian President was also calm. It is clear that Kosovo’s institutions are responsible for developments in the country”, Haradinaj declared.
