Merkel: “Western Balkans’ borders can no longer be changed”

The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, expressed her opinion against borders changes in the Balkans.

She made this declaration after meeting with the Prime Minister of Bosnia, Denis Zvizdic, during his visit in Germany.

Merkel said that there are talks in Western Balkans for changing borders, which, according to her, cannot be done.

“There is a European perspective for all of the Western-Balkan countries. Bosnia and Herzegovina are trying to join the EU. This is why they had to answer to hundreds of questions. We have encouraged their government to respond to these questions”, Merkel added.

Merkel also underlined that Bosnia’s NATO accession is a priority.
