The President of Macedonia, Gjorgje Ivanov, declared that the agreement with Greece is damaging for the country and that he will not sign it.

“The government couldn’t find the courage to reach a common consensus. The process was not transparent and this was proven by the final result. They have violated everything that is holy for Macedonia”, Ivanov said in a press release.

The Macedonian Prime Minister, Zoran Zaev, and the Foreign Minister, Nikola Dimitrov, submitted at the Presidency the agreement with Greece for resolving the name issue.

But the meeting didn’t last more than 2 minutes, because Ivanov left the office without hearing about the content of the agreement.

Earlier the day, the leader of the biggest opposition party, VMRO-DPMNE, reacted and said that this was a difficult day for Macedonia and its citizens.
