The Lezha Police gave more details about the recent property title frauds in Lezha, which led to the arrest of the mayor as well, Fran Frrokaj.
The Lezha Police confirmed that 12 officials have been arrested while 11 others are on the run.
“12 officials were arrested and 11 others are on the run. In cooperation with each other, they have abused with their power and altered the property title of 234,548 square meters of land in Shengjin. Through falsified documents, they have changed this land from state property in the seaside to arable land. Then it was registered at the Lezha Real Estate, making unfair profits for themselves and other persons involved. These proactive investigations were started in 2017 for power abuse and forgery of documents”, said the Lezha Chief of Police, Ferdinand Mara.
