On the national day of cultural legacy, Albanogy leaders give the alarm for the destruction of the Albanian language lexical archive.
According to the director of this center, there are 5.5 million files that are degrading and becoming unreadable, because of the bad conditions they are being preserved.
“During the entire existence of this institution, different employees have worked with the files that enabled the creation of the Albanian Vocabulary of 1981, and also the one of 2006. We cannot do anything without this archive. There are files that are deteriorating and others that have been completely destroyed. A small investment could fix the entire archive”, Ardian Marashi declared.
He added that until today, these funds have been treated like inventories and now they need to be digitalized, “so that they become a sort of legacy”.
