Kukes, highway without overpasses

15/06/2011 12:30

The lack of overpasses and underpasses in the highway segment from
Kolshi to Morina is the main cause of some tragic accidents in this
area.

The residents who live in the nearby villages are obliged to pass across the highway where cars move at 120 kmh. Most endangered are children, who pass many times a day from one side to the other.

Many of these children pass across the highway for doing agriculture and cattle works, or for going to school. A few days ago, a 12 year old child remained victim of an accident.

The construction of the highway had positive affects for the economy of the area, but it also brought isolation for its residents and is risking their life, due to the lack of pedestrian passes.
