The representatives of the Democratic Party in the Municipal Council of
Kukes had divisions among them and one of the councilors was discharged.

The debate took place during the process for electing the candidates for the District Council, one of whom would become head of the District Council.

The head of the Councilors’ Group, Ibsen Elezi, proposed his own name and that of another councilor, but one councilor of the Liberal Democratic Union proposed the name of Shefqet Bruka, who is still head of the District Council. This proposition made the head of the DP group to discharge the candidate.

The former head of Council, who pretends to be reelected, has reacted to this decision.

The discussion process has continued in a tense climate, in presence of people who were not municipal councilors, but directors of local institutions. After many debates, the Municipal councilors voted the two candidates who clashed with each other. Now they will continue the race for the head of the district.
