The role of KFOR remains unchanged in Kosovo, that of offering a safe environment and freedom of movement.

These were the words of the US colonel, Nick Ducich, during the handing over ceremony for the KFOR command in the Bondsteel base.

After his predecessor handed over the post to him, Ducich said that this mission is especially important for him, due to his origin.

“I am the first US officer of Serbian origin who commands a multi-national group of the Eastern Battle. I am privileged to serve here and to give my biggest contribution to creating a safer environment for the entire people of Kosovo”, said Colonel Nick Ducich, KFOR commander.
