KFOR assigned turned border checkpoints no1 and 31 in Northern Kosovo to
“Military Limited Area”, after the violent acts that took place
yesterday, with one of the buildings set on fire.

The news comes from KFOR commander, Erhard Buhler, who warned that the soldiers are authorized to open fire in case of danger.

“I cannot exclude another effort, but both border checkpoints are declared Military Limited Areas, and the rules are very clear”, Buhler declared in an interview for Reuters.

The German general emphasized that unauthorized persons will risk being shot by the soldiers if they will enter the militarized area.

“The soldiers may use their deadly weapons to defend themselves, the people and property of the militarized zone. All unauthorized people must not stand near the border checkpoints”, Buhler warned.
