One day after being shot, Tirana Municipality Chief Inspector of City Constructions, Ardit Kaja, rests in the Military Hospital and in better conditions.

He told us about the miraculously survival from the bullets of two unknown people, who shot and wounded his left leg.

“I took my car as every day and I was going to work. On the boulevard, near the Ministry of Defense, two people on a motorbike shot and wounded me. I noticed them only after the first shot. I instinctively turned my head and saw the shooters”, Kaja explains.

Kaja explains that during a year of work as Construction Chief Inspector, he has had no conflict, except for this Saturday, when he confronted Socialist Movement of Integration militants, whom he prevented from hanging SMI flags on city’s main streets.

“We asked the militants of one party to pull their flags off. They refused and we had verbal confrontations, until the police arrival. On the evening there was another incident, and we also had pressures by the police”, Kaja declared.

Kaja will stay for some time under medical observation, while his hospital room is always full of visitors, relatives and also citizens who know the Construction Chief Inspector.
