Kosovo Parliament elected some moments ago the first woman President, Afitete Jahjahga.

Jahjaga was elected with 80 votes pro, 10 con and 10 invalid votes, against the rival Suzana Novadbërdaliu.

Until today, Jahjaga has been the second person in charge of Kosovo
State Police with high grades earned during her career.  She was elected
today as the consensus candidate after the negotiations between
Democratic Party of Kosovo, Democratic League of Kosovo and Alliance for
New Kosovo, under the mediation of American Ambassador Christopher
Dell.

During the voting session, the Self Determination Movement deputies
abandoned the room as warned, while the other opposition party, Alliance
for the Future of Kosovo decided to vote.

Meanwhile, Self Determination has criticized the biggest opposition
party, Democratic League of Kosovo, on the agreement signed with Hashim
Thaçi’s party and Behgjet Pacolli’s party for the consensual President.
