85 Albanian and foreign professionals, observed by international experts, have processes the waterbird census in 22 areas all over Albania.

“The census is made once a year, mid-January, for four days. This time is enough for all experts to give their data, in order to calculate the world population of water birds. We saw very interesting species, a large eagle of ducks, which is an endangered one”, said Taulant Bino, National Coordinator for the Bird Census.

Alfredo Guillet, Researcher and Professor at the University College, Dublin, said that he has worked for 25 years with birds, which he considers an important element for understanding the environment.

“Birds help indicate climate changes, the presence or absence of an habitat. We have seen many interesting species here in Karavasta”, Alfredo says.
