Interior Minister about suspected former officers: “Prosecution did not order their surveillance”

The Minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, confirmed that he has filed a criminal report for the compromising of the operation that would lead to the arrest of three former police officers who are now on the run.

Xhafaj said that the Prosecution did not task the Polcie to keep the former police chiefs under surveillance.

Xhafaj addressed to the opposition, which has been launching accusations, to file to the Prosecution any additional information they might have.

The former Vlora Chief of police, Jaeld Cela; the former Police Chief Against Organized Crime, Gjergji Kohila; the former Chief of Dhermi, Sokol Bode, are still on the run. Investigators suspect they are hiding in Albania, or they might have left the country illegally.
