The International Monetary Fund warns that other Eurozone countries risk
to be infected by the “Greek virus”, predicting that after Greece will
be the turn of Ireland, Portugal and other countries like Italy and
Belgium.

“The countries with debt problems must undertake strict reforms to prevent a possible spread of this crisis,” declared IMF.

The global organization for financial stability asked the European Central Bank of not increasing the norms of interest.

On the other hand, the member countries appealed to strengthen the banks that need more liquidity, in order to avoid another crisis.

The head of IMF for Europe mentioned the possibility of a further assistance for Greece, but that will have its conditions.

“We think that Greece must move towards the right direction, which must have a financially supported debt. For the moment we don’t need restructuring it”, declared Antonio Borges.

The advice of Borges for Greece was to try and sell some state owned assets. Officials from the European Union, the European Bank and IMF, started yesterday their fourth evaluation of the Greek economy.

This review must be done before June, when Greece is expecting to receive the 12 billion Euro fund of aid.
