The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, refused to decree Skender Gjinushi as the President of the Science Academy.
In an interview for Top Channel, Gjinushi said that the presidential decree is not valid and his election is legitimated.
“The election result was made publicly, and the process was not tempered by anyone. The president cannot undo an electoral process that was carried out autonomously. This is why the decree is invalid, because it makes no reference to the law of the Science Academy”, Gjinushi declared.
