Gerdec case, Mediu again at Court

The Supreme Court chose by lots the judges that will review the suit
filed by the families of the victims who died in Gerdec, after the
explosion of an ammunition depot.
This suit regards one request that the families of the victims addressed to the General Prosecution some months ago.
They wanted information if this institution was investigating the former Defense Minister, Fatmir Mediu, because the Supreme Court closed the process against him.
The lawyers say that the prosecution did not give such information to the residents.
Since the name of Fatmir Mediu is frequently mentioned, the case was automatically sent to the Supreme Court, which proceeds with persons who enjoy immunity.
This court also chose by lot the judges that will proceed with the case filed against Mr. Mediu and other accused persons, all represented by Pashk Koçi.
The plaintiff seeks pecuniary and non-pecuniary reward for serious injuries caused by negligence.
