Food-selling businesses complain about excessive fines from National Food Authority

The National Food Authority said for Top Channel that they have officially notified all food-selling businesses to guarantee food quality before the tourist season.

Sellers of meat products, most of whom refuse to speak in front of cameras, appear surprised about this declaration.

But there are others who say that they have received an announcement from the National Food Authority, although they don’t have any official document, as NFA says.

Top Channel surveyed some of food shops this Thursday, to have a better idea of how they keep and sell the meat that we eat each day.

While citizens complain about unsafe food, sellers complain that the government is taking them to bankruptcy with taxes.

One of them says that he is currently taking the government to court for a 3 million ALL fine for the meat stamp. He says that the stamp was removed during transportation.
