The Court of Tirana has appointed financial experts to calculate the taxes that Rezart Taci has failed to pay for his oil trade.

These taxes include VAT, excise and carbon tax, during the time when Thaci was administering ARMO company.

The experts were appointed by request of Taci’s lawyers, who claim that the damage calculated by the Prosecution as 8 million EUR is inflated, and the real number is lower.

Taci was found not guilty by the Courts of Appeal for the same accusations, but for taxes that he had to pay to the local government.

In this trial, Taci is accused of avoiding VAT, excise and carbon tax.

One of the strongest evidence that the Prosecution claims to have against Taci is that when Armo was not paying debts, with the argument that they had no liquidity, the investigators verified withdrawals of millions of Euros from the bank accounts.

Taci is being tried in absence. He has also been accused by Swiss authorities for fraud.
